Choosing Wine - Just For Two Sensual Dinner

For the appetizer of honey bake brie, we need a medium body wine such as this Vouvray from the Loire Valley in France. Vouvray is made from the Chenin Blanc grape, it has a nice sweet taste on the fore palate and a contrasting crisp finish. The sweetness will pair very nice with the honey and the well rounded finish will balance of the richness of the brie.

Should a Vouvray not be available, a Chenin Blanc will do just fine from either California of France. As for the on tray, we need a wine that will not overpower the cream sauce in this pasta dish but has enough acidity to cleanse the palate of the lactate. Macon fits the built perfectly. Macon comes from the Burgundy region of France and is a hundred percent Chardonnay. It has a well balanced acidity, a subtle oakiness and a richness that will pair very nice with this pasta.

Two other wine in same region, Pouilly Fuisse and St. Veran are also wonderful choices but slightly more expensive.
