Nessa Wrafter: I’ve come to Clapham to visit Janie Lawson who is one of our favorite designers from London Fashion Week and she’s teaching me to some beads into her house. She’s very exciting. Hi Janie, we’ll need to see you again.
Janie Lawson: This is a new collection. We had this in the spring summer so it’s really pale pastelly color safe go by this antique rose and then you’ve got that mix with this lovely caramel and this kind of tea color. And then again that’s one from those guinea fowl so it’s really kind of entity looking because it’s lovely one over here with the rose and it’s got the quill coming through it to give it a bit more definition.
Nessa Wrafter: So would you form and sell a lot of this specifically for weddings or do people just buy them to have?
Janie Lawson: We do sell it for weddings but we do sell a lot for other occasions as well. You know ordinary days and all kinds of things really but yeah, we do a lot for weddings too.
Nessa Wrafter: So tell us about this first stuff, Janie.
Janie Lawson: So this is a great hat for a guest of a wedding and this is got the guinea fowl feathers and this is quite nice because it’s called the natural kind of color crystal in there and it’s like a caramel color.
Nessa Wrafter: So this are toffee naturally something treats.
Janie Lawson: Yeah, these are fuller. They are
Nessa Wrafter: They are incredible.
Janie: I know they are really pretty.
Nessa Wrafter: Now, I definitely I’m loving this hat. This is great because it’s big and it’s a statement but it’s not too big and you don’t want to take too much away from the bride. They tell me about this some kind and what do you mention that is going to that they are looking for.
Janie Lawson: Well, this is probably going to be great for mother of the bride because only it’s the mother of the bride is too really young because you don’t want to look her grumpy.
Nessa Wrafter: Yeah, exactly. You want your mom to like cool on your wedding day.
Janie Lawson: And I will say this can be made to order in any color, the veil and then the crystals and the crown.
Nessa Wrafter: So just somewhat right.
Janie Lawson: Yeah, exactly. And you’ve got the crystals coming across you’re your going right down.

Janie Lawson: Yeah.
Nessa Wrafter: Wow, this is amazing.
Janie Lawson: Yeah, I really like that one because it’s quite sculptured with the quill coming through the middle and the crystals following the line of the quill.
Nessa Wrafter: My mom wore this to my wedding all day. Let’s do this actually afterwards. I tell you she go outs the wedding and then I was going to have it after it and love the fabric and it can made to order, just send any color that’s amazing..
Janie Lawson: Yeah that’s really nice because in it really finishes off an outfit if you’ve got your hat while having your shoes.
Nessa Wrafter: So last but not the least this is stilling.
Janie Lawson: It’s lovely in front. This is great for a bride. And it’s always kind of winter and you see looking. I love having this piece of net over my eye actually. It looks great. That is just done a mixed of feathers and veiling with this source crystals wrap against. It is really nice thing of the piece and the look of my brides well quite simple more cocktail dresses and big kind of wedding dresses so they can play around a bit more with what the wearing in the head.
Nessa Wrafter: And what I really like is the fact that this is like the alternative to having a traditional veil.
Janie Lawson: Yeah, exactly because a lot of people don’t really want to wear veils anymore so that’s a nice compromise.
