Female: Entertainment comes in many forms and is mainly influenced by the type of wedding you’re having. So what is the importance of having music and entertainment at your wedding?
Male 1: Live entertainment really makes a party. It really makes a wedding different. Most people aren’t used to hearing live entertainment right there, and it gives an atmosphere and we find that people actually will remember that more probably than the food or the venue or the flowers or even I say the dress. We go for the live music.
Male 2: Yeah, it’s definitely I think with the disco it’s something that people access more regularly and they know more lives. It’s not bad. It’s something a little bit more with have to deal with older man. You might save more of a special occasion ready for the guest.
Male 1: One of the most popular types of entertainment for wedding is definitely a disco, and there are good reasons for that because the DJ is an economic proposition. It costs you less than a band. There’s one DJ and they are usually more of the one person of the band. We would advise people just to be a bit careful about who they used. You can get probably a very good people at the Yellow Pages at the very modest price, but we think you’re taking quite a risk and if this is the main entertainment on your wedding day. You don’t want some cowboy to turn off, somebody who touch your equipments, somebody who he thinks you’re on the radio and again do a lot of pattern more interested in himself than what the guests want.
A kind of DJ that we specialized in that function, junction and except if you recommend obviously DJs who are used to dealing with top venues, Western hotels, country house hotels, even had charged the atmosphere and play what will keep you from the downs fall. They can have top quality equipment of course all that should be included, the PA, the lights, very often they should be able to provide the microphone to speeches if that’s required. They will cost you a little bit more. You’re really be getting top quality entertainment.
Male 2: One of the big questions is what time do the band settle? This really depends on various factors. I think the first thing is if you’re eating in the sign word then there’s a possibility the band might have settled before you start. If it is possible for the band to set up after a wedding breakfast that’s always better as long as the band is concern if they’re going to have to hang around.
And of course, it should be cheaper with the customer although with certain wedding venues, the grand hotels, the more key receptions, the light weddings. It’s just impossible the band really do have settle beforehand.
A band will normally take on average and out to settle they usually get background music to be settled within about 15 or 20 minutes. A band will play for around two hours in the reception being between three and a half or four hours. People are not actually worrying on things, what’s going to happen in between? Do we need a DJ as well as a band?
Well, if the budget isn’t a problem, you got lots of the money you spend on a band and the entertainment, then by all means have a DJ. But it’s not absolutely necessary.
A band that is used to do wedding and experienced in dealing in wedding would always bring background music on CD to play before in their brides and offer the performance. It is in the bands’ interest what is it they actually got the audience dancing when they do take a break not to let them sit down all day. And that is why good band will not have a fix set of music to play from. I mean it’s very important that you don’t restrict the band.
Tell a band what you want to fill that list. Tell a band what you don’t want to fill that list but leave them the opportunity to paste it the way on the night because otherwise if people stop dancing they don’t have the freedom to move on to a different style. It’s very often that if you start off with rock and roll and let’s say that’s the best thing to do because the old faith that the wedding seem to go first reception is sometimes that doesn’t work and sometimes you’re better off with film full of action. No one ever knows it’s different every time and you need the flexibility. So don’t harness a band.
Yes, by all means tell them what not to play, tell them what you would like them to play, but don’t tell them the audience to play in.
