It is quite a story I was an executive with Revlon in New York City. My wife have just are first child. A mutual friend ask that she talk to another lady who is about to have a first child and that ladies husband was Gary Kelgourn, a very famous engineer. His clients were Jimmy Hendrix, Frank Zappa and who and Coshmitols and Nash Laterer and so on and so forth. Laterer was very, very famous for doing a imagine with John Lennon. He knew nothing about business, I knew nothing about that recordings in your business and very quickly we learned that we could really help each other and so I want to found some money. And reform the record planned and the day we opened we were book for three months because of his reputation and because we were able to go out. And those days custom design all the equipment for this studio. When we started in the business studios were fluorescent lights, light walls and rugs with floors. New hospitals, we turned the recording studio into a living room and basically the idea was to do everything with such perfection with the artist had no excuse for not making the best possible music. As nothing ever went wrong and we could get them anything that they wanted any time of the day or night. The first client and our first hit was Jimmy Hendricks electric lady van. Hendricks came to us when he first came back to New York. He and Gary became fast friends because they go to the same parties. And Gary brought him in back to studio and Jimmy immediately felt comfortable there, and they leave there virtually. At doing that first record and Jimmy was just very, very happy there. He did not like to go home and I know that some days I would come in, coming over from Revlon just to see how things were going and he would be standing there. In trance to the speakers that they had a hundred 10BB which was he really like loud, loud speakers and listen to his music. By that time they would been looking all night. Gary be sleeping in the couch and Jimmy would just be in heaven. Were instant success and we just grew in so then when grew there the two rooms through three rooms. We moved out to one inn Belt, Los Angeles because that is where the industry was going. We got in to the remote recording business. Our first remote recording was the concert for the Bangladesh with George Harrison. We got in to the movable business out here in a big way we have four trucks. We did the Grammys, we did the Oscars, we did the Country Music Awards etc. Then we get in to film music and we run stadium the scoring stadium in Paramount lot. We work with just about everybody, who is any body from many, many years we had 10% of the top 100 albums. The recording industries have change so very much since we went into it many-many years ago. We actually opened our first room in New York in, 1968 and of course, it is my last five years just since 2001, the entire industry has change. Almost of every artist has its own personal studio and all were looking for now is radio quality something that can be played on the radio which again use to be that you can only get that done in a studio like this. Now you can get it done with a few thousands dollars worth of the equipment like in a Berkley Music courses. Your able to download all the software. There able to teach harmony, there able to teach how to mix on the internet and so your able to transmit your music all over the world on the internet. The internet has changed the world. The internet has changed the music industry and I just see that continuing to happen when you take a Berkley Music course you can be any where in the world. The only requirements is that you have the proper computer and internet connection and that you speak English for any one is starting any kind of a business. There is a formula and a great many people do not understand that formula because they do not understand how business works. Be particularly creative people and basically what you have to do is a very orderly progression. You start out number one with a feasibility study that is just approved to yourself that your ideas are viable one. You then pursued to a business plan that it is designed to prove to others that you’re selling to raise money, to find investors, to get loans and then you moved to finding your team. Putting together the people that they do not do what you do in allowing them to do it. So, that you have all of the basis covered in whatever business your going into. You find out what is your target demographic is. Who are the people are going to use your service. What is that you make about your product or service in terms of what you offering versus your competition. And last but not least your marketing, if you build it they would not come because they will not know your there. So, the marketing, the promotion, the publicity for any industry and most particularly the website is important. But that is kind of the progression of what you have to do today to have any chance of success. Here at record plan right now there are five Berkeley graduates. Berkley has always been the top of the line and going back years, in years, in years if I saw on somebody’s resume, an applicant resume that he had been into he Berkley College in those days. And today if you second course as Burkleymusic.com that put him in at the top of the least because we needed people who were motivated to do the best that could possibly be done from the day they want to Medora. And that is what Berkley and Berkley music do right now.
