Karina: Christian Louboutin is a famous designer now doing his own collections for 15 years. His shoes becoming so hard to find and hard to buy even though they are very expensive. They start at $600.00.
Monica Tell us why a woman would come to your store and buy a $600.00 pair of shoes instead of a $60.00 pair of shoes? What is the difference?
Karina: People like quality. It’s a word, you know. It’s like, it’s fun to buy something that’s exclusive. And the star who wear it, Angelina Jolie, she wears this. She wears it everyday, on the higher heel, you see on the Live 8 Madonna wore that.
Monica: It’s very easy to recognize a Christian Louboutin shoe by looking at the sole. It’s always red.
Karina: You know, this is his trademark. It’s very famous, inspired by the red carpet events.
Monica: How many pair of shoes are produced per style?
Karina: It’s more about -- there’s just some store in the world that have the possibility to sell these shoes. It’s not like available for most shoe store and over the world, there’s like 50 store and that’s all.
Monica: What are going to be the trends for this upcoming season?
Karina: This is the Pigalle. This is very known by name. People know it and love it.
Monica: When you say Pigalle, what does it mean?
Karina: Pigalle is the neighborhood in Paris where there is the Moulin Rouge. I can show you simple pump. It’s very popular all the time. So this season they added the strap but it’s always a classic.
Monica: Here is a flat in the collection. It’s so sexy. There is an opening on the side.
Karina: This is actually inspired on a classic pump that he had that was opened on the side and he just took off the heel and so made it available for people that cannot wear high heels.
