Christmas Cranberry Sauce Recipe

One of the classical accompaniments with roast turkey this Christmas, it's cranberry sauce. Now instead of going to super market and buying a little jar, I am going to show you how to make it using three key ingredients today. It's incredibly simple cranberries, sugar, and water; its always, always, always going to taste better if you make it yourself. And I will show you just how easy this is.

So first off, your cranberries in the pot; you should be able to be able to find these in most supermarkets, you might have to go to like a specialty shop or something but they are becoming increasingly more common. And with your sugar, and with your water, put it on a medium temperature for about 30-35 minutes really, really nice and slow and they are going to burst and then we are going to blend them, and that's it. Literally throw them in the pot, heat it up, and blend it, and it's going to taste amazing.

So those are just about ready now, and if you look inside you can see that because the sugar is in there, they become nice and syrupy. It's a really, really bright fuchsia red color, they smell absolutely out of this world, the only other thing that we have done, we have done very little so far. We just threw the ingredients in the pot, all we have to is pop that in to the blender. Now we are just going to give it a pulse for about 30-40 seconds, always start off with pulse first.

That's literally all it takes. Now if I take this out and show you a little bit of the consistency on the plate, what you likely see is that it's quite sort of smooth and runny. What's going to happen is because you eat cranberry sauce cold and there is sugar content in there, you are going to pop that in the fridge and its going to solidify a little bit and it will start to look like that horrible stuff you get in the jars but a taste 100 times better. Really simple, delicious cranberry sauce.
