Anybody that knows me knows that I’m crazy about citrus. Melissa d’Arabian from the Food Network makes this citrus trio butter cookies that I absolutely adore. A nd then I came up with something that I thought would go along great with them. It’s a cocktail, and it’s called citrus temptation.
So I’m starting with an ounce and a half of limoncello which is an Italian flavor liqueur and putting it into my shaker with some ice. Then we’re going to add three quarters of an ounce of orange flavored vodka. Put that in. Now, I’m going to add three nice size lime wedges, which is going to be that a half an ounce. Then squeeze the juice out. I’m just going to throw those into my shaker because I’m going to end up straining them out. Put them at the shaker.
Now, I’m going to give a good shake. I’m shaking this not only to chill it but also to dilute it. That’s really important when it comes to cocktails. I’m going to rim my glass with some raw sugar. I’m just going to dip in some water just to rim. And line the rim with some raw sugar. This sugar is not only going to give the cocktail a little bit of extra texture, but it’s also going to give an extra added sweetness. Put some ice cubes in here. And now, I’m just going to strain this out into my glass.
All right, let’s give it a try. This is what I call a citrus temptation. With the orange, vodka, and a limoncello, and the fresh lime juice, it is citrus on the rocks that would be great anytime of the year.
