Guys Chris again from ClassicVWBugs.com and I got a little tip for you today. If everybody is doing early beetles that guy usually do. I want to talk to you about when it comes to putting in the window scrapers. I probably got to make a DVD of just a whole anterior and exterior reassertion, but now here is a short tip for you.
The anterior inside rubber scraper that goes for the window here. It kind of look like this when you buy it. It is kind of flimsy and it has got wire through it that weaves throughout the holes. Just to pop it into the door.
What I have noticed is when you buy this new once, they look all right of course but the wire that they have actually is going through the rubber. It is kind of they do not form it correctly to fit it into the holes. They have to snap into the door. And the problem I noticed is when you try to put it in, oh my God there are days where I was kicking, swearing everything because these things would just not go in the hole. So my recommendation for you is take the new wire out. Okay and before you got your car like I usually do before. I get my car painted. I got to take all the seals off everything. Save the old wire like this. They came out of the old seal and you are going to reuse that for this new rubber.
So that is a little tip right there and it will save you a lot of headache. It is unbelievable sometimes how hard it was. I was crimping the wire. It is getting pliers in it and tries to shape them in form. It just made matter as worse. I want them scratching the car and that is a whole other or deal right here. So, when you get new rubber seals, inside window scrapers for your door make sure you take—save the old wire. Clean it off, it might be a little rusty and then you get the new scraper, take the new wire out and put the old wire through the new rubber and that will save you a lot of headache.
That is our tip for today and if you have any questions feel free to ask chris@ClassicVWBugs.com. I will see you then.
