Male: Hi and welcome to Golf A Lot Equipment News and our review of the
Cleveland HiBore Monster XLS driver. Cleveland claim the HiBore
Monster XLS driver is their biggest and longest driver yet. The club face
is 16% larger than any of the previous XLS models to create a large hitting
area for increased distance and stability. The Monster XLS is closer to the
maximum legal moment of inertia allowing it to produce fantastic ball
speed on every drive.
The Monster XLS certainly has a far lance traditional look than other
Cleveland drivers but the muted colored color scheme means its looks and
feels quite comfortable as you address. Club head has a unique design
with a thin top edge and sloped crown and we like the look of it. In our
test we were impressed by how easy it was to hit long straight drives with
the monster and it really put a smile in your face as the high MOI design
meant even off center hits stayed reasonably straight with good distance.
Given the size and design of the head, there’s a noticeable impact zone
which will appeal to some. However, if it is performance you’re
interested, you’ll find that the Monster XLS will certainly keep you on the
straight and narrow. The HiBore Monster XLS is also available in draw
and tour versions. The draw version features a 3 degree closed faced and
internal heel weights with the same head as the standard version compared
to the 4 lofts of the standard and tour versions, the draw version has 3
higher lofts of 9 at 10 and a half and 12 degrees to allow for the de-lofted
closed face.
The tour versions, the draw version features a 3 degree closed face and
internal heel weights with the same head as the standard version.
Compared to the 4 lofts of the standard and tour versions, the draw version
has 3 higher lofts of 9 and 10 ½ and 12 degrees to allow for the deloft at
closed face. The tour version comes with a 2-degree open-face and tour by
is waiting to enable better players to ward the ball more easily. It also
features a more traditional compact pear shape than that of a standard
driver and has a longer tour length hosel.
We think better players will really like the tour version as it sets well as
addressed and still gave lots of forgiveness with a much more penetrating
trajectory. All the HiBore Monster XLS Drivers come with Cleveland
easy grab head cover is a standard and these not only look great but are
much more easier to get on and off than many of the head covers on the
market today.
