Christine: Well it’s Friday and that means our live coach Dieter Powells is joining us. Dieter, you're going to be doing a series starting today.
Dieter: Exciting, yes.
Christine: And it’s all about posture.
Dieter: Well that’s the first element, posture.
Christine: Yes, this is—whenever you say posture and I'm sure you at home have just done the same thing, you’d sit up.
Dieter: Right.
Christine: It’s not always easy to keep your posture.
Dieter: No.
Christine: But it’s important.
Dieter: Posture is very important. What we want to talk about in general first is, think about the solar system, you know you have the sun and you have the planets orbiting around the sun. What keeps the planets around the sun is gravity and inertia. So I was wondering, how can we create some—a field of force, a field of attraction for ourself so we can get the things that we want in our lives.
Christine: Okay.
Dieter: And the first thing we want to talk about today is a very obvious one. It’s called posture.
Christine: But it’s one that a lot of us forget and we just kind of—you know, yeah I mean you end up like—I mean this is very comfortable but it’s a lot better to be like this and you know, we’re talking about the economy now and how difficult it is for some people to find jobs and many people are going on job interviews that haven't ben on them for a long time and one of the first things I think that you notice is the posture.
Dieter: Posture, if you think about it, it’s 50% of our communication is non-verbal. It is body language, it is posture, so you're sending a very strong message when you go on job interviews or you meet with people, connect with people, it is how you present yourself. You know, if you sit back, you sit straight, you know you open your chest just slightly, you roll your shoulders back just a little bit, you allow more oxygen to flow into your body which means, oxygen, we need oxygen to think so you're going to think clear and you're going to feel more energy. And also you're going to exude a sense of self-esteem.
Christine: Yeah we’re looking at a job fair now where people are going around and filling out applications and maybe not thinking about their posture. But even—specially, some place like this, someone may notice you if you're the one that’s standing there and looking confident and your body language is saying, you know, hire me.
Dieter: You know sometimes people say one thing and I'm getting a body language which is saying a completely different thing. And even if you don’t feel completely confident, if you change your physiology, you change your emotional state. You know, it’s very difficult you're going to sit like this and feel happy, right?
Christine: Right.
Dieter: But if you see that’s true—
Christine: But I just don’t say.
Dieter: You are the exception to the rule, right?
Christine: No, no, no.
Dieter: Yeah.
Christine: But you know sometimes when you pull your shoulders back, it feels a little exaggerated.
Dieter: It has to be natural. You want to engage your muscles, your abdominal muscles, your buttocks. You want to engage your muscles, feel your muscles.
Christine: Okay. I'm trying to.
Dieter: All right.
Christine: So you really start from the diaphragm.
Dieter: But you start with the ground. I mean if you just put your feet down on the floor and you just feel the floor, you get grounded. And from there you feel—you build up your own posture.
Christine: What other things and part of this puzzle that makes up the whole—that can help us better ourselves and have a better self-image and more confidence.
Dieter: Well, the first one, posture is obviously a very physical thing. we’re going to be talking about the physical components, we’re going to talk about some mental, emotional components and even some spiritual components. For the next 12 weeks it’s going to be so exciting because once we put the puzzle together, we are creating this field of attraction that we all look forward in our lives.
Christine: And so next week, what do you think you’ll be tackling?
Dieter: Well, we’ll have to wait to—you know, you’ll have to wait for next week.
Christine: But again, there's going to be 12 components that will help you with the law of attraction and make you feel better about yourself.
Dieter: Talk about the law of attraction, it’s something more than just visualization and thinking that is going to come to you. We need to actually create the opportunity first and we’re going to be sharing with people how we can create that force of energy, that magnetic field so to speak so we can attract things be one. Well next week we’ll talk about presence.
Christine: Okay, presence.
Dieter: What does it mean to be present with someone?
Christine: Okay, proactive in your own life.
Dieter: Absolutely, yes.
Christine: Well thank you coach Dieter.
Dieter: Are you excited?
Christine: Yeah very excited. I think this will be really good and then by the end of 12 weeks we’ll have a whole puzzle.
Dieter: We’ll have a whole puzzle, yes.
Christine: And, you can go to kplr11.com to chat with Dieter about how to improve yourself when it comes to landing a job and much other things and fighting STDs with education.
