The tools of the trade – bartenders often take and pick up different tools they use to make cocktails with and if you want to feel like a pro there’s a few more I might recommend.
Welcome to the Cocktail Spirit from Small Screen Network, I’m your host Robert Hess. Now I hope most of you out there have been watching the show for a while because we’ve been on for a while and by now you’ve probably actually started making some these cocktails yourself and you know gathering for yourself some of the standard equipment that you’re seeing me used; the cocktail shakers and strainers and channel knives and spoons and stuff like that to make your cocktails at home. To a certain extent this is the basic equipment you might need at home to make some great cocktails. However, why stop there? Why just take and get the basics? Why you take them you know bump it up a level. You know you go to a bar and you see if they have more stuff than this that they’re using at the bar to help them make drinks efficiently to their customers, they look beautiful, everything is within reach.
Let’s take a flick of the couple of things you can also get. Now these are here I picked up easily out of kegworks.com but Kegworks also has some other things you can pick up. One of those is what they call garnish tray, this is a very simple tray you’ve them the time. You put all your garnishes in here. Now one of the problems some people might have with this is when you’re making garnishes and you store in they you can take them in and out or you’re putting in the refrigerator and they’re drawing out. But one thing handy is with this new cling seal type wrapping you can actually take and most of them fit just perfectly right across the top. So you can take and stick your seal on. Put in the refrigerator take it out and now y0u have your garnishes all ready to go for your parties you might have or for yourself. Just open that lid, easy take and reach and grab what you want make your drinks garnishing. The Lid itself is handy because close it down when not in use and now your guest can’t simply be piecing off of your olives and your cherries all the time.
Another thing to use is what’s called a bar caddie. This is a handy one stop shop for all of your accessories for serving a drink after the garnish is done. You know we also got a spot for napkins, for two sizes of straws, my swizzle sticks. Here I’ve got some little steel spoon straws as well as coasters, you stick where they’re handy in there and you can access those. You’re going to take in put this on occasion where it’s handy to access everything. You’ve got your tools, you’ve got you’re garnishes even got your serving equipments. You can easily serve cocktails for yourself or for your friends. And one last thing, a lot of drinks are going to be using club soda, soda water stuff like that, its extra credit getting a nice soda siphon is kind of fun because it’s going to help you make your own carbonated water anytime you want to. Plus it just you know looks fun to put that in the drink and if you watched me as old black and white comedy films you can even take in these pretty things around but I wouldn’t recommend that at your place where to go to a friends place and water his place down quite a bit.
So there you have a collection of different bar equipment that you might be able to easily use and easily use it for your own stuff like that for making cocktails anytime you want and you can also feel like a pro.
