Ken Dolans: Hi, everybody! We’re originally not going to do this scam but we don’t sometimes have a Dolan scam buster video so I’m going to start this going on and be careful of it like you open the paper. They’re burning up of situations, the Boravich and that’s all alleged. We’re not accusing anybody but there’s scam everywhere. That’s all such a stuff going on! So we’ve said we’ve got to do a Dolan scam buster with three. There are a lot of them. Let’s go through it.
Daria Dolans: Alright! And just to remind you is that it’s going to get worst before it gets better because it’s the economy that stays in this scam and hopefully doesn’t get much worth so go on and I'm afraid it will.
We’re going to see more people turning to dishonest ways to try to get some of your money rather than go out and figure out are not as the way to make their own
Ken Dolans: One to be careful of one of three, I'm going to talking through, I’ll talk more as we go is phishing, not fishing for fish. We’re talking about basically people looking for personal financial information coming from websites and emails so it looks like really, really good.
Daria Dolans: Looks like you’re buying!
Ken Dolans: Like my bank.
Daria Dolans: Looks like your bank. It looks like your brokerage firm.
Ken Dolans: What do I say? It looks like just like—Yeah, well.
Daria Dolans: If they are asking you—
Ken Dolans: We can design it too before I joke.
Daria Dolans: If they’re asking you for your personal information such as Social Security number, credit card number and account numbers, they know it! The IRS or your bank, your brokerage firm does not email you asking for such information.
Ken Dolans: Call me if you have to. We’ll go check it out but don’t send the information first. Number two, about my home rescue, clearly with so many homes and foreclosure and a lot of Americans in extreme this with practically no equity or worst in their homes. And now somebody has home rescue teams they just signed over your deed will avoid this for a gorgeous end. Sign off your data as, will rent a house out, and with some of the rent will pay off your mortgage and you’ll pay as a fee. We’ll pay off to mortgage and everything will be fine. Well, they’ve rent the house for sure.
Daria Dolans: Yeah! And they take the money and you’re out on the street
Ken Dolans: So home rescue, be careful. There is lots of good stuff on Dolans.com
Daria Dolans: Also, do not pay upfront for a company that they advertises that they’re going to for sure no matter what kind of credit measure in get your mortgage interest rate lower. They charge in that free upfront an upfront fee. They take your money and then either you never hear from them again or they’ll send you back a letter saying sorry the bank said they would not do it.
Ken Dolans: Yeah, after they got your money. Speaking of credit and credit and fee stuff, one thing we’re saying a lot of it is an advance fee credit card offer.
Well, credit’s type is tough to get credit cards because now the standards are higher and people with questionable credit just kind of get you credit cards and so they say, “There is no worry about it.” Guarantee 75 hundred dollar credit limit, no big deal, just send us a processing fee, 79 bucks, 80 bucks, 85, you know 70 to a hundred dollars. No problem, the way they say it. Then the card never arrives.
Daria Dolans: They send the money. Yeah. Don’t worry about the mail box. You’ll die waiting there.
Ken Dolans: Yeah, exactly. No reputable credit card company is going to ask you for a fee in advance so be careful.
Daria Dolans: And with the unemployment numbers rising in as we speak working home scams become more enticing to people. Send us a hundred dollars and we’ll send you the kit so that you can make kindly lose it all on stuff envelopes in them and make five grand a month hardly ever working.
Ken Dolans: There’s plenty of at home things you can do without getting ripped off. You can be a tutor. You can be a red web design. You can do elder transportation for people who can’t get away or caregivers after worked during the day where the nursing homes are overcrowded or don’t have enough vehicles to go out.
Daria Dolans: Virtual secretarial
Ken Dolans: I like that virtual secretarial where a particular office doesn’t have the room or doesn’t want to pay for healthcare. And one other, there’s a lot of desktop publishing. The bottom line is work at home, bright idea. We spend a fair amount of time working on
Daria Dolans: But don’t pay someone else to send you the materials to do it.
Ken Dolans: Phishing, home rescue, advanced fee credit cards at work at home scams. Be careful, you work too hard for your money. We’ll talk more during the year.
