Common Injuries in Basketball

Basketball has an interesting series of injuries that occur because of the nature of the game is pretty high paced game with a lot of body to body contact. So we do see some head injuries in the game, especially ball to the head, or heads colliding with heads. The other thing that we find this a lot of times that athletes are all trying to occupy the same space especially coming down for a rebound and one athlete will land right on the other one's foot and ankles sprains are fairly common as well as knee injuries.

The jump stop especially for female athletics has provided a quite a number of ACL tears, so we want to be really aware that good landing technique is taught and making sure athletes are getting enough space in order to come down in a safe position. We also find the fair number of bruises especially thigh bruises in basketball, knees to the thigh and want to be top making sure that we caring for those in a good manner.

Also we will find that there are a lot of foot injuries in basketball from either getting stepped on or just all the pounding on a hard surface and we will see some foot sprains themselves. Heal bruises, will see some problems with the toes and the Plantar Fasciitis in the bottom of the foot and we want to be on top of all of those injuries as well.
