Hi! This is Edward Loh with Motor Trend and today we're here with a very interesting comparison. On my left is a 2008 BMW 135i and on my right is a 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution MR.
Now this may seem like sort of an odd pairing and it is because a BMW is actually all new and there are no natural competitors for it in a marketplace. So what we did is look at bunch of other cars that are similar to it and eventually arrived at the Lancer Evolution MR.
The reason being both cars have around 300 horsepower, they're about $35,000 and for guy like me, who is younger, single, looking for a sports car or sports sedan, these cars make perfect sense.
So how do we compare them? Well first, we're going to go to Reno Fernley Raceway Park where we're going to put them head to head on the track. Then, we'll go to Hyundai's Proving Ground where we can do our instrumental testing; acceleration, breaking, figurate that kind of stuff.
Finally, we'll head back to the streets of Los Angeles where we'll be able to test both vehicles in real world situations in an urban setting. So why don't you join us as we figure out which one of this odd couple performs the best on the track and on the road.
