This is for those idiots in YouTube that are using Windows and they don’t know what the hell they’re talking about. You know they always bash about the terminal—the terminal, that’s stupid. So I’m going to prove them wrong right now, in Windows you have the EXE right? They say the double clicking and installing is the fastest way, okay so you double click it, right and it will say install—like this in Windows right, and you have to click next, next like that.
So you get the idea on how they do in Windows right? And in Ubuntu, it’s the same although we don’t call it EXE, we call it the DEB file, see DEB file. And it’s actually quicker than the EXE also, you just double click it, this will pop up right, you click install, there install package and then it well tell you type your password and you’re done, you don’t have to click next, nothing. Just type in your password and you’re done.
In Windows, the EXE is the—the fastest way for them, alright. In Ubuntu there’s a few or a lot of ways you can install. The add or remove, right? You can check like a hundred of these at a time and you install it once, you don’t have to click on each EXE and go next install, next install, it’s stupid right? All you do is just check all the—that you want, and like this, done. See, install all right? That’s it. And then you click apply down here and you’re done. That’s all you need to do, you want like more other software, just open up the Synaptic Package Manager and install more—you know, there’s like a lot of—in there.
You just check as the same thing as an add or remove, and then you click apply up here, and you’re done, that’s it. And then you want the quickest way, terminal now how hard is to type this, sudo apt get install opera and then you want to install another—like VLC, Firefox, see, how hard is to type that? And you can install three or four or five, it doesn’t matter, endless at one time. You don’t have to click next on the EXE or anything like that.
The EXE you have to open Opera and then you click next, and after Opera you want to install VLC, click another EXE and then next. It’s too long, and you—look, even the Firefox you can install that to, like over here this is where you type in the browser here, you go APT, and then you just say install AMULE, right. Just click on that, and then it would just going to pop up right over here. What is this, install additional software, yes done. How many ways is that already, look at that.
So don’t say that the terminal is the only way to install, right? The terminal is used because of like, people online they want convenience. If you tell someone, oh yeah they go to Opera.com, and then download, and then double click on it and then click next, it’s too long. One line of code right here online, if you can’t do this, how hard is that. You say oh, sudo apt get install opera, done. So yeah that’s the few ways that you can install on Ubuntu or almost any other Linux, they have the same thing. So yeah, the terminal is not the only way.
