Todd: Hi, I'm Todd from Austin. How do you get through to someone who does not see his or her addiction as a problem? Timothy Fong: Well thank you for asking that Todd. The best way to get through to someone who is denial about their addiction, to share with them how you see their behavior is affecting your relationship with them. So for instance if there is a lot of more arguments between the person and you care about, or if you're concerned about them, the best thing to do is just tell them, hey listen I'm worried that you're drug or alcohol use is starting to affect your life and it's concerning me and the best way to do that is talking a non-judgmental, non-accusatory tone.
