Hey there, I am Robert McDonald and I want to show you something today that will allow you to do more with your photos and maybe you are currently doing now and what I mean by that is that well we are going to take a photograph and actually make it look like it was hand painted. You are probably wondering yourself how we are going to do that. Well, there is a program called Corel Painter Essentials 4 and what that application does is it allows you to do just that you can take one of your photographs, bring it into the program with two or three simple and easy clicks you will have a hand painted photograph. Let's go and have a look at it.
From the welcome screen here, we are just going to go in and jump into the photo painting and I am going to close this window, because what I want to do is use one of the files that comes with the program. So let's open this up, file called path and to paint this image we are going to select use the open image. So you will notice now that hey look at that our picture is up in the source image area here.
So the next thing we are going to do is come down to the Auto Painting palette and actually select one of the painting styles. So there is a number of styles that there is like 19 of them in here or something like that. So there is a lot. I recommend you going in and kind of playing around with it and have a look at it. But what we are going to do is we are going to select one style.
I am going to select Oil Painting and from there Painter Essentials will actually set the image up to work best with that particular painting style. So like what we have selected here, Oil Painting. So at this point all we have to do is click the Start button. When you click the Start button, the image will start to paint which is unbelievably cool. So you can actually watch the program paint it for you. So way back when computers first come out, they were supposed to do all this work for us, we have to work less, have more fun. We all know that that didn't actually turn out the way it was supposed to. But Painter Essentials actually does do the work for you, you don't have to spend time, to paint it on your own. The program will actually paint it for you and what we see here is a finished painted picture.
So what it's done is it started with a fairly broad brush stroke and then reduced the brush size to bring up the detail that you are seeing in the image right now.
