Crayon Resist with Dawn DawnsStampingThoughts Hi Stampers! Today I am going to do a remake of a video that I did. When I first started my making my videos, this was the technique that I did, it is called crayon resists. And, I thought it was time for an upgrade, so I am going to redo this technique for you today. I am using the Dream a little stamp set from the Hostess only, from the new catalogue. And, I am also going to be using the whisper white crayon from stampin’ up. I have also used the Crayola crayon, the white, but I have noticed there is a big difference, between the two of them, even though they do the same thing. But, when I use the Crayola crayon, when I color the images, it flakes off quite a bit. And then, when you are using your sponge or daubers, the flakes get on your ink pad. But, the whisper white crayon does not do that, so I am going to be using that today along with the Stazon blank and that flower from that stamp set, Dream a little. And then, I am using pretty in pink ink with my sponge. So, let me give you the measurements on the card today. The whisper white is measured at 3 ¾” x 5”, and then I went ahead and stamped the Dream a little on there first with the black. And then, the b lack cardstock is cut at 4” x 5”. And then, the pretty in pink cardstock is cut at 4 ¼” x 11”, scored at 5 ½”. Okay, so let us get started. I want to use the black stazon ink. And, the reason I like to use the stazon with the crayon resist because it dries really fast. So, I am just going to ink up my image and I am going to stamp the flower all over the whisper white. [Demo] Okay, so I am going to take my crayon and during the crayon resist, the idea behind this is that there are crayon has got a waxy substance to it, so when you apply the ink over top of the crayon it is going to resist the wherever you put the crayon, it is going to resist the ink. So, you are just going to color your image. I am just going to do the petals on my flowers. [Demo] I am just clearing the centers a little bit. Okay, so then after you coloring your images, then you are going to take your color. I am using the pretty in pink and I am going to use the sponge today. Then, I am just going to ink up my sponge. And, I am just going to go over that flower with the ink and the heavier you apply your color, the more that crayon resist is going to pop. [Demo] So, I am going to go kind of heavily over that flower image. [Demo] And then, in the white space, I am just going to kindly go over that a little bit, just with a little bit of color. [Demo] As I said, I went ahead and stamped the flowers three times on scrap whisper white, and I already cut this out and I put demensionals on the back of those. The easiest way for me co cut the images out, there are the paper snips. And, what is nice about these, is that is really short cutting base here, so they really get into the areas that you want to close to? So, I cut the image out, pretty close to the stamp image that I have on the whisper white. And the, instead of moving the scissors, I am going to mainly move the cardstock as a cit. leaving just a little tiny border around the petals. And, you will see that I am moving the cardstock and not so much my scissors. We sell all kinds of scissors for the rubber stamps, which are the craft and rubber scissors. And, the way you saw the paper craft scissors for cutting ribbon in your paper and theses paper snips, they are really great. and then, you get a little case to put your scissors in. So then, after you cit flower, I went ahead and put dimensionals on it, so let me put that one on this one. Peel the back ends off o those, and then we will put the cart together. Okay, so I am going to put some adhesive on the whisper white, oops just dropped my card here. Okay, I am just going to layer this on the black. [Demo] Okay, and then I am gong to layer this on to the pretty in pink. [Demo] I am just going to crease the edge a little bit. Okay, so I am going to take the flowers, and I am just going to position these overtop of the images that I already stamped, just laying on them. [Demo] I guess that looks cute. Okay, so then we are going to add some glitter, of course, make it even more prettier. I just like to add a little bit of glitter to the flower. I also had a question on how you get the glitter, just where you want it, without getting all over. Now, I myself like it to be yellow over. But, you can take embossing body or fabric softeners sheet and just kind of likely go over that. And then, do your two-way glue pen, and then, the glitter will just go right where the blue is and it would both stay on the whole card. [Demo] Okay, let me get some dazzling diamonds.
