Ani Phyo: Hello, good afternoon. Today we are going to be making a delicious curry salad for lunch. The dressing is going to be made out of one apple, a lemon, curry powder, olive oil, a clove of garlic, about a tablespoon of ginger and a little bit sea salt. We are just going to throw all of it into our food processor and turn it on for a couple of seconds until it breaks down into a cream. We are just going to pour it over our salad mix and it's going to make a delicious simple salad.
You will notice too that as you eat more fresh organics your garbage is going to decrease. This whole meal right here only produced compost. Basically the core of this apple and the rind of this lemon. I actually keep the lemon rind and I use it to degrease my china tops and when I have about 12 lemon rinds I will leave them, throw them into my bathtub and I will fill it with water overnight. In the morning, drain it, pull out the lemon rind and just wipe down with a soft sponge. You will notice it will degrease your whole bathtub and the rind will be gone. So, it's a great way to degrease and clean your bathroom and your kitchen without using the harsh chemical lemon cleaners that you buy at the glossary store.
Here we have one tablespoon of curry powder, one apple that's been diced in cored, one clove of garlic, one tablespoon of ginger, one cup of olive oil, and a juice of one lemon and a half teaspoon of salt. So here we go. I am going to put my apple into the processor, my olive oil, my lemon juice, my garlic, my ginger, my curry powder, and my salt. By the way this salt is brown because it has a lot of iron in it. It's a Hawaiian clay salt, sea salt in case you are wondering why it's not white. Then we are going to process.
Okay, so now that we have blended together all the ingredients into our dressing, we will just pour it over our salad mix and you can use anything you want. This is just a mix of all different herbs and greens. Now once you are going to toss, and that's it. So one tip is to always keep salad mix in your fridge. When I go to Farmer's market I buy all my greens and as soon as I get home I wash them all and then I make a salad mix and I keep that in the refrigerator. Also whenever I make dressing, I make at least two batches at a time and I leave it in a jar in the refrigerator. That way you can always just go the fridge and grab a quick snap whenever you are hungry.
So that's it. So here is our salad. So here we go, in about 30 seconds or less with prep timings included we have made five salads and we have dressing leftover for about another five. So these look really good and I am going to give them to my friends to enjoy.
