Create a Folder Shortcut in Windows

Today, I am going to show you how to create a new icon on your desktop for basically anything. So, we’ll right click on the Desktop, select New, select Shortcut. Now, we get a dialog here that’s asking us to browse where we want to make a shortcut to. And essentially you can make a shortcut to anything on you computer. And the Shortcut, as the name implies, gives you a quick and easy way to get to that file. So, we look here in the Download directory, right, here is a sound file called ALARM. So highlight that, click OK, select Next. Let’s put in the name for the shortcut. ALARM sounds good to me. If you want, you could type in the name that you want. Click Finish and now as you can see, we have a shortcut on our Desktop, if we double click it, it play the ALARM and that’s all there is to it.
