I am Steve Terrano, welcome to section of Body Performance.
Lot of people are asking about creatine or creatine phosphate, let me see if I can explain how it works.
First thing, you have to understand is this, we have 3 energy systems in the body and this energy systems make ATP and deliver it to our body.
That is there only job to deliver the ATP energy molecule to our muscle and the rest of our body.
The 3 systems are: The Creatine Phosphate System, The Lactate System and The Aerobic System. And depending on how intensely we are exercising will determine which of this 3 we use.
But their basic job is to make and deliver ATP.
So when ATP is use by the body, it looses a phosphate group so it will go from a dense tri phosphate to a dense diphosphate so it will go from ATP to ADP.
So when we take additional creatine phosphate, what it does is it donates a phosphate group to the ADP converting it back to ATP at faster rate.
Now our body makes creatine and we get creatine from red meet but we do not just have a lot of it so weather you take in additional creatine in a form of powder or pill, it do not matter.
Its main job or its main function is to convert ADP back into ATP at a faster rate, giving you a few extra reps electo snap.
Love your body.
