Molly: Hi, I am Molly Finkelstein, and I am going to give you a few ideas on creating a Gift Basket for an Artist. One of the first things that I would say, is think what does an artist need? And, maybe one of the things that I would do is take a basket and fill it with brushes.
Now, most artist brushes are very expensive, so maybe the one artist brush will be the real gift, but then you can fill it with brushes from the hardware store and, much, much brushes that they can use for just sewing your canvass, and for a variety of things and it could almost make it like a bouquet.
You could also talk in some great water color paper, or bristle board, something that they would be painting on, which could be a really lovely gift. One other thing that we have found artists love, and specially love to give to each other are a couple of books. One is the dot and one is the book-ish, and these are books that really build an artist’s self-esteem. They are charming stories that we have found, people love to give to all of their artist friends.
So, those are a couple of great choices and another book that we have found artists love to give to each other. And, this is a book about artist’s houses, and it gives you all of kinds of ideas of how different artists arrange their studios. And, I think for artists, these are wonderful gifts.
