Lesley: Whether you’re looking for wedding invitations or planning your Childs birthday
party there’s nothing like adding that little extra personal touch to make the
customized cards unforgettable. Anna Filer of Tiny Prints and Wedding Paper
Divas is here with some creative ways to touch the heart through greeting cards.
Thank you for joining us.
Anna: Thank you Lesley for having me.
Lesley: And you want to start with some pictures I see your own family is it in there.
Anna: Yeah you know in this digital day and age we have so many ways of getting in
touch with people, with Facebook, email, text but thoughtful gestures are harder
to come by, so today I want to show you three ways to save time, save money and
make a big thoughtful impact with greeting cards.
The first way is just say it with pictures, so it’s the easiest way to customize a
greeting card is adding your own picture. As you can see here. I created an
anniversary card for my husband, our 10th is coming up, and so here’s a picture of
us on our wedding day almost ten years ago and here’s a picture of us today so
this part you know really chronicles our journey together.
Lesley: And as you said so, people are using face book and email. Why is it important to
send the actual greeting card?
Anna: I think we just love something we can touch and feel especially when it’s
personalized, no one frame the text message or email.
Lesley: You’re right you can keep that.
Anna: Something like that, you can keep forever, you can keep on your mantle, on your
desk, right?
Lesley: Yeah and you can also get creative with words.
Anna: Yes for sure, the easiest way is just to add someone’s name. The easiest way is to
just add someone’s name. Another fun way is to make a list of why you love this
person. So here in this card my kids made a list of why they love grandma.
Grandma’s kind, funny, and ticklish, gives us candy, mommy and daddy don’t, so
this card is made for grandma.
Lesley: And if you’re at lost for words, then you’ll have something pre done or a
template?
Anna: Yeah well you know I you know their birthday you probably know their
horoscope. So send them birthday card with their horoscope.
Lesley: You’re right. Everyone wants to know what their future’s going to be.
Anna: That’s another fun way.
Lesley: You see something positive too.
Anna: So ones you spent the effort to make the card you can make more with it?
So this is an example of a second anniversary gift made for co-worker Katy and
so for her second anniversary, Tiny Prints, we cut up the card and framed it and so
for less than ten dollars we made her keep sake.
Lesley: So you really just give her the gift of a greeting.
Anna: Exactly. and then for you I made a card to thank you for having me on the show
and then I cut out the front of the card to make gift tag to make it really impact.
Lesley: Do you feel the people say enough thank yous?
Anna: Yeah you know where they send you text to say thank you and this is just
something that you’ll for short treasure. and you really doesn’t take how much
more time.
Lesley: And I know you started your company with 3 of your girlfriends, right?
Anna: The Company was started by 3 friends.
Lesley: So do you guys still remember to send each other greeting cards?
Anna: We do actually, it’s a big deal in our office. We always send each other card.
Lesley: What’s your favorite time to give a card?
Anna: You know anytime I think especially when there’s no reason, when you get a
card, when this is surprise. I think that’s when you know it’s most impactful.
Lesley: So really does, its kind of extra gesture that you can give nowadays.
Anna: Yeah and it really takes a couple of minutes.
Lesley: Well thank you so much for joining us, we enjoyed all your greetings.
Anna: Thank you.
