Okay. So, what we need to do for the baby's hat is that we need to learn how to half double crochet. So, on the edges when we do our regular double crochet we actually have to change to go up, but because it's a half-double crochet, you only to do two and that's because it's slightly shorter.
So, what we just do is that we wrap our needle around the material and go into the stitch, right? And what we do -- sorry I was just thinking about this. We pull our needle through, so now we have three and what we need to do now is grab that material again and pull all the way through three of them, just like so.
So let's try it again, so wrap your needle around, go into the next stitch and pull out the one, so now you've got the three left on there and pull all the way through the three. Try it again, wrap your needle around, go into your stitch, right? Grab your material, pull it out, so you have got three and I will pull through the three.
Wrap your needle around, go into the stitch. Pull the material through and you have got three left on there. Okay, so what I am going to do just to show you so this is a regular double crochet that I am going to show you right now, so you pull through, so you have three. Then you pull through two and then you pull through two.
So let's do it again. So, this is a regular crochet, double-crochet and I am doing this on purpose, so I can show you that there isn't actually a height difference between the two.
And so whenever you are using half-double crochet; when you are chaining up you only do two instead of three because there is a height difference, as you can see and the half-double crochet makes it lest gaps. So, that's how you half-double crochet and you are going to need to know that for this baby's hat.
