What we are going to cover in this video is how to actually take your Datafeed for Neil Shearing’s 10 Day Cash Secrets WordPress plug in. The last two videos we have come to here had to format that Datafeed, having downloaded it from shareasale.com. So now, we are going to look at how to take that data feed and actually import it into your blog and have those post start turning up on your blog on the time basis indelible basis that you want. Now you do need to upload the tender cash secret plug in to your blog. I am not going to show you how to do that, if you need to know how to do that, there are videos on math4.com on the videos page on how to use FTP Software to upload files like plug ins to your blog and how to activate plug ins as well. If you need to know how to use that FTP Software, it includes a link some free software to use as well.
What we are actually going to do is go across to the blog that I am going to use and this is the blog I have logged on. So I have log in as admin, I just go to plug in this page and this is the plug in that we are interested in so all I am going to do is click on activate and that should just refresh the page to say that it is activated, plug in activated. Now, it does depend on your web host with some web host, when this plug in is not activated, it may be top directly to what is called the cron jobs which is like timer thing on the server. It may not be able to change that fully. If that is the case, you will actually get a message that looks like this here, “cannot write to cron, please write this cron to this cron manually. What you need to do is highlight this part, copy it and simply paste that into a text pad, so you have got a copy of that. Now you then need to go to the C panel, control panel for your host for this particular domain, I will file actually got across, I already have in my note.
The way your version looks may be different from the other version of C panel. It is an old theme. Some of the new themes have slightly different look and feel to them but what you are looking for is a bit that sends cron jobs. If you have a new theme, it will be on the advance features, you need to click on that, and it will bring up a new page. You have two options, advance or standard. Now, Neil did a video show on how to use standard item, he used the advance option. If not really advance, it is just a different way of looking at the information and we will bring that up. What we are going to do is get back to my text pad. I am going to copy from just in front of the PHP to all the way to the end, leaving at the stars and I will copy that and paste that into here, into the command. Make sure you do not leave this trading space at the end so if you got a space there, just get rid of that so it ends in the one. Now the other bits that we need to do, is solve the time of how often the post is going to be made, this is done on the basis of posting every 5 minutes.
I prefer to post around every 55, 56, 57 minutes, just under now, it was over now. So what I am going to do is change the hour to a star and put in let us say, 53 minutes in a minutes. You can also put in your email address here and it will email you whenever the cron job is running. It will probably be something irritates you after a while. But when you first start using this, it is worth having it in there so you know it is running it correctly or if there is any problem, it will normally be described in the email you received. You will know very quickly whether it is running correctly or not. I would recommend starting with your email address in there but once you get use to it and have it up and running, you may want to come back and take that out. Then click on commit changes, once it refreshed you can go back, and go back in just to check to make sure that line is there and there is now a blank line underneath. If it is not, it has not been taken or accepted by the host and it could be that you have too short a period of time in here, many hosts do not like a short period of time in here because it can tie up the server with many resources. So make sure like coming back in to this to make sure that, that line still there.
