Mateo: So, here are some of the most watched videos from the Winksound.com community.
Rick: Right, these videos come straight from music just like you who’ve uploaded their videos into the winksound.com community and these are some that we think you’ve got to see.
Male: JanJMusic explains how to rewire a reason into cubase.
Male: This is a que step next. It's kind of been missing a lot tutorials that I’ve read online. Everybody just says, open up cubase and then open up reason, but this step is kind of missing a lot of tutorials for cubase.
So, you go up to devices here, the device menu and what you want to do is go down to this option called reason, makes sense? It brings up this list of Rewired channels. So, when you activate a channel in here, it creates a rewire channel list over here. You can use as many as you want, it handles it pretty well. So, when you activate this channel. This actually corresponds directly to the audio outputs on here. So, if I route a device and reason to three and four, what that’s going to do is– if I have this activated, it's going to route all the audio from reason directly into cubase. Great feature right there.
Male: Riley and Durrant shows how they set up their APC40 mini controller to perform when they’re both in live.
Male: We’re just going to put through out. We’re mixing stuff. Okay, over here, you’ve got the—basically so when the APC arrives, this are for different channels. This one is send one, send two and send three. Except that, we didn’t want to use that way. The way we wanted to do it was to rim up our own stuff. So we’ve even labeled, so instead of pan, we’ve got all the basic skills so all the channels, one to eight, it got base to it.
If we flip the next one, that’s the delay on all the channels. All we need to do is wrap that up and get a nice little delay on each channel. Over there, I’ve got high—same thing again and this one I put it low. So let’s totally remap this to do what we do and to kind of help us in our DJ.
Male: He gives us a quick intro to the MIDI editor window in Pro Tools.
Male: On the left hand side of the MIDI editor, we have our tracks window. Here, we can select tracks display in the MIDI editor and also tracks that we wish to work on. To display a track, simply enable it in the track side bar. The track will then be shown on the MIDIgrid. You’ll notice that it has a different color to the other track. This feature can be total of by using this button.
We are able to scroll around the MIDI window, allowing us to see higher and lower octaves of the selective instrument. If we decide we’re once ready to different MIDI track but keep the other tracks in view then we need to move the pencil tool on to that track. Any notes that are hidden behind other tracks will be brought to the front. If we hide the track that we are working on, then the edit function automatically jumps to the next display track.
However, when we show the track, the function does not automatically jumps back. Simply other notes, we can just double click on the grid. Then with a smart tool enabled, we can lengthen the note, shorten the note. We can change the notes pitch and we can change it by holding down the command key.
