Veronica Delfino: Hi and welcome to WatchMojo. I am your host Veronica to show you that lowriders aren't just a bike, but an urban culture.
Here I am at a lowrider bicycle shop with owner Karine Paradi. Can you tell us a little bit about lowriders?
Karine: Yeah, the lowriders started with the Chicano American and they wanted to impress the girls, so they were pim-pim, they ride, and just cruising down the boulevard and putting their hydraulic kit on it, so they can bounce to the music. The kids, because they didn't have enough money, they wanted to do the same thing, but they did it with a bicycle.
Veronica Delfino: What's the philosophy of lowriders?
Karine: The philosophy is only like to chill, relax, respect, be proud of what you had or what you built.
Veronica Delfino: Are all the bikes custom made?
Karine: Some people, they like it simple, no bling, but you don't need to custom your bike, just ride.
Veronica Delfino: What's a sensational to ride one?
Karine: Like me the first time even now, it's been what maybe 15 years I am riding my bicycle and it seem like that there is music in my head and I am just riding and seeing all those faces. Every time we pass to some place, some people like they are pointing their finger or they are laughing or they are screaming, bounce-bounce-bounce.
Veronica Delfino: Thank you very much.
Karine: You are welcome. Just ride!
