Emmy Scarterfield: I started Emmy shoes about 3 years ago now; I’ve always done shoes and have worked into fashion for about 12 years and beforehand so, I started Emmy shoes really because friends of mine were getting married and wearing quite disappointing shoes I would say, I’m compromising quite a lot on what they kind of had in mind and what they thought would look great with that dress, they didn’t actually seem able to find. So with my history of show design and then my knowledge in the fashion world, I kind of put the 2 together and created Emmy Custom Made Wedding shoes.
My inspiration comes form many things really, and quite fond of it, it doesn’t fairly come from an actual shoe, which I suppose in a way makes it quite refreshing collection. Most of my designs come form vintage pieces so if for example I have a shoe which is inspired by cushion; I have another shoe which is inspired by an umbrella; so quite obscure things I’m tanning into shoes vaguely; and lots of the things I find of kind of a local market, and to my shop which is called Camden Passage, it’s on a Wednesday morning; and in particular that’s a shop with annex which is open all the time, along quite (--).
My most expensive and extravagant shoe I guess is the shoe that I did for a particular customer, which is beaded and sequined all over, that you got a really similar one here; and so its’ beaded all here which is a specific design and then all here that’s really twinkly, and of course this has a kind of oyster color tint to it but you can have it made any specification. This shoe is 795 Pounds, so nearly I guess, as much as the dress.
