Everybody, this is DJ Ty from agiprodj.com, bringing you some hot news, brand new mixer, hit the warehouse today guys. We’ve been waiting for this for months, the new DENON DN-X1700. This is their new flagship mixer and we all kind of stand back and wondered, “What on the earth are these guys doing, charging an 1800 bucks for a mixer?” How they think they’re going to get away with that? You know, they’re going up against the club standard at a whole lot of less money and these things guys, it is a monster. Four channels, dual effect processors. It’s got USB connectivity. We actually haven’t hooked up that Video Scratch Live right now. This has been out of the box for about ten minutes and we were able to do some media mapping for Video Scratch Live, some simple stuff. [Demonstration]
It’s just not that on this a few minutes but I use this whole section of the mixer running MIDI. I’ve got my Scratch Live, left channel, going through channel three, right channel going to channel four. And then I have these all set up in mini mode and watch this, so these are outlined red, right?. These are on audio mode, check this out.
Now these are on audio mode as well, now they’re in MIDI. Illuminated blue in MIDI, Illuminated red is audio, and that’s kind of a hybrid mode.
Again, MIDI controls on these channels, I’ve got knobs, up faders, and buttons that I can assign or I’ve done that with Video Scratch Live. I have my effect assign. I’ve got my bypass set up, so I setup my bypass. I changed my amplification or amplitude of my effect, as you can see on the screen, when I tweak and tuck around—[demonstration]. You know, that’s just one application you do with this mixer. This thing has got a built in sound card. It’s got digital IO. It’s got beautiful effects built into it. Choose external effect processors, you’ve got whole backup effects. You’ve got delay echo, transform, flanger, filter, tracer, reverb, loop, reverse loop, pitch shifting, beat breaker and then you can send it all out through a send-return in case you got an external effects processor that you want to use.
So, you can route either one of these effects to any of the channels. There’s an effect in return or an effects assign here, effects channel one. We can go to like assign two. You can hear that flange on there, now pick a different effect, select it, do that echo fade. So I mean it’s all there [demonstration]. We got a phaser effect. You can turn that off, get back a new echo fade. This thing is loaded guys. Four channels, tons of effects, it’s got MIDI, it’s got a built-in sound card, two channel Mic inputs balance out crossfader control. Check this out. This is wicked.
So these are your contour controls for your cross fader and your up fader, it’s digital guys. So when I control this, I’ve got visual representation of my crossfader. I can adjust my curve. I can also adjust my up fader cruise, and made that really hot. Let’s get back to the effects processor.
So, we’re going to go over a ton videos going over each individual aspects of the mixer, the effect section, the crossfader, the MIDI, the built-in sound card, everything and then the different things that you can do with the DN-X1700, but we want to get this up so you guys could see it. As you can see, I’ve just knocked out of here in just a few minutes doing some MIDI assigning in them. I literally plug in the USB cable into my Mac, plug in into the back of 1700 and started assigning. Not a driver to install, nothing, it was up and running. This thing is bad guys. And DENON fan boys and DENON lovers, no hating on the Pioneers. I had to get the video up. This was what was up. We pulled the mixer 5:14. We threw the 1700 in here. We wanted you guys to see this thing running so that’s gorgeous.
Beautiful, beautiful piece of hardware—DENON DN-X1700 four channel mixer, guys, give us a call, email or IMS if you need more information on this thing, we’ll be spending lots of time in this in the coming few days.
