DJ Mix Tour is a pretty catchy title for an app, and when I picked it up I thought I'd be spinning and scratching like the best of them to a well thought out game structure. You can imagine my disappointment when I realized that the game was not the epic scratch fest I was hoping for. As it turns out this game, released by Gameloft, is another tap game similar to the likes of Tap Tap or DDR for the iPhone. Instead of notes flying at you on bars, the notes are sent over spinning records and down to the flip switch.
Off to a disappointing start as my recent dreams of becoming a world-class spinster were just shattered into a million pieces, I tried to give the game a second chance to impress me with its unique game play and eye-melting style.
But I came out a bit more disappointed again. The game moves at a pretty slow pace with notes not to difficult to keep up with and sometimes a bit confusing.
The music selection is somewhat impressive with some top hits being played. But the lack of some hip-hop to play to and the small track selection to pick from just threw my kudos back into my face. There is a mixing side game that allows users to add music tracks to either side of the turntable and mix them together, but this alone did not add much to the game.
Overall, the game is a mediocre tap game with some interesting graphics, but for the price it's listed at and the theme trying to be emulated. It just is not worth the download in my opinion.
