Do you need an image (freeze frame) from a particular frame in your clip for your website? Creating a freeze frame in Final Cut Pro is very easy to accomplish and I will show you how to do it in this episode.

I have a problem. I´ve done just like the podcast said but freeze frame didn´t "appear". Why??? I have no clues. Tanks

My name is Marcelo Lewin, the digital media dude. Today’s tip is for Final Cut Pro and how to create a freeze frame from a clip. There may be times when you need a frame from a clip for an intro or for adding as a graphic. In this podcast, I will show you how easy it is to get that frame and save it as an image file. So let’s get started. Okay, here we are Final Cut Pro and what we want to do is we have, assuming we have a show that is finished and now ready for DVD burning. We want to take a frame and take an image capture of this frame right here for the DVD cover. Now we also want to go ahead and maybe do a little introductory title here with that image. So the way to do that is, you basically you take your play head in your timeline and place it exactly where you want the image to be a freeze frame. So we will go ahead and take it right there and we’ll see that’s a great image. Now we want it as our freeze frame. What you can do is, you can go to modify and then make freeze frame or just hit the Shift N key. So we’ll go ahead and hit Shift N key. And what that does, it will open up the freeze frame right in your viewer. Now what you can do is you can take it from your viewer and put it in your browser, and now you have an actual image. That is ten seconds long as you can see here, the duration is ten seconds. We will go ahead and rename this and we’ll call this-intro image. And now, I can easily, for example, double click it, put it on my viewer and say overwrite. And now I’ve just over-written that image into the actual video, if you want to do that, for example and you can see when I play it, it’s a frozen image right there. So that’s how easy it is to create an actual image for your video. Well that’s it for this short podcast. I hope you enjoyed it.
