Let's talk about one of the circle, alright. One of the things that I see that is missing from and you know you can better me out because you have read a lot about this, you have studied tapes, you have done a lot of gun training. That I see missing from a lot of gun disarms is this circle. What I call -- what I have coined as the shrinking infinite-danger circle of the gun. Okay, what I mean by that is, if Al’s has got a knife out and he has got a knife, somewhere.
I have got two of them. So, Al’s got a knife out and he goes like this, and he makes a circle with his finger out and an arc. Okay, where do I not want to be, I don't want to be on the arc, so we have talked about how you have got to be outside of that danger circle of the blade, or he swings it at me and I am outside this way and I am inside this way. So you can either be one, inside or outside, alright? So now he has got that gun pointed out me. Okay, well you know being right on it is not a good idea. Okay, I cannot be outside of it, can I, alright? I can only be inside of it. Okay.
When I say the infinite danger circle of a gun, what I mean is from this point outward and it's not really infinite because we all know that gravity, eventually, will make the drop to the ground. The only place you can be in this disarm is inside of this circle. Okay. And this is going to be key. Alright. Now I say it's shrinking because he is going to do that. Alright. We are going to have our partners do exactly what somebody who is going to stick a gun in your face is going to do when you try to take it away form him. They are going to fight back. Okay. He is going to pull that gun to him. So that circle is going to get really tight. Okay.
So here is one of the things and I am kind of letting you make mistakes and then I am going to tell you, okay, you have been practicing it like this, the problem right here, is this. He is going to bring that other hand into play. He is going to step back and pull the gun to him and you are going to be struggling like you are outside of that danger circle. So here is what I want you to do. When you do your tip, your deflection, and your step, I want you to end up here. I want you to get deep (ph) to them. We are just doing it form the front, but as a good example from the back, I mean if he has got that thing pointed like right in the small of the back for instance, right here, when I turn -- if I turned out here, we are going to end up in a struggle.
What I need to do is, do this. I need to get this close. Okay, so what happens is, I am inside of the circle. Okay. I am inside the circle, so for now, think about that circle, he has got that pointed at your head. I want you to get here. I want you to get -- and at the very least be in a position so that when the struggle ensues and he steps backwards and pulls the gun to him, you are going to continue to get as close to him as you can. Okay. So think about the circle. So that's one of the key things about this whole thing that I told you this is going to come down to that infinite danger circle of a gun. You have got to be inside.
