You know at some point during this fight that is going to ensue that, that gun will cross, you will be out here and you are going to get short. So get inside, get close. Somebody had reminded me in a class a couple of weeks ago, yeah it was a robbery, it was -- and I am talking about headbutts, headbutts, headbutts and he says can me show me a headbutt?
Okay. Some of you may be -- you know it, but just real quick as reminder here. You are not butting head to head. What you are doing is and the theory behind all of this is, is that use the hair line, which for me is -- it used to be down here, but now it is getting farther back. But in theory, this point right across your skull is the thickest part of your skull. And what you are doing is, is using that hard part of your skull to hit a softer part of their face. So you are not hitting head to head. You are trying to spread their nose all over their face, like this with the crown of your head, thick part of your head. Okay. The nose, you know, that's a good example, a hard weapon, soft target.
Here are a couple of the key strikes that you are going to use and you will see that the strikes actually support being inside the circle. So the first one that immediately comes to my mind is always a good headbutt. You can stop, you can do knee strikes, you can do elbows, you can do eye jabs, or rakes, no kicks because what is this doing, it's putting me outside the circle. So all the strikes have to be close-quarter, extreme close-quarter strikes. So, you know, I tell people sometimes, you know, like on this one here, hey listen don't kill me, relax, I have got a wife, I have kids, you can have my money, you can have whatever you want. If I am thinking about doing this and a side kick, he is going to step back, he is going to pull the gun to him and I am way outside the circle.
If instead, I am just thinking about hitting him with an elbow strike, pow! By default that puts me deep, deep inside the circle. If I have to hit him with the head, you know, if I have to get to this guy to hit him with a headbutt, well I have to be way up in here. Pow! If I need to hit him with the knee, I have to be way up in here. Alright, so all your strikes have to be really, really close-quarter ones and it's knee strikes, it's elbow strikes, and it's headbutts. Those are three key ones.
Don't get too focused on how you grab here, you know that can be here, that can be here, you may have done it -- I see some of you doing it this way, I see some of you doing it this way, or some of you are here and here. Don't get too hung up on how you are going to grab, okay, for now. You just need to make sure you don't get shot. Alright, and you are controlling this weapon arm, inside of the circle, long enough for you to go bang, and spread his nose all over his face and then knee him in the crotch, after that you are going to have a little bit more time to get your hands in a position where you can do step 4, which is the actual disarm.
