Dairy Products and Breast Cancer Risk

Melanie: Hi! I am Melanie from Waynesville, Ohio. Does consuming dairy products increase a woman's chance of getting breast cancer. Steve Edge: Actually Melanie no, I am unaware of any evidence that dairy products per se increase or decrease the risk of developing breast cancer. Now dairy products maybe high in fat content, and women who have a high content of fat in their diet such as in North America or other western countries have a higher risk of breast cancer. Looking at ones' diet and reducing the amount of fat in the diet, maybe really to depress cancer risk, but certainly used in appropriate amounts there is no evidence that dairy products alter breast cancer risk.
