Host: Most experts in Cholesterol and Pediatrics would say, you know the first two years of life, don't worry too much about the cholesterol. This is some very unusual thing in the history. So, they don't want you to really limit the fat for first couple of years. Obviously, you don't go to excess amounts and it is extremely important because you develop all of your estrogen, everything comes to that particular fat. So, it is very, very important to have that in the diet, the first years, is that true?
Maria Monteverde: Yes, there was recently a new study from the American Academy of Pediatrics. I can't quote it exactly, but I think it was basically saying that if there is a questionable familial hypoleptinemia that maybe at age one depending, you might want to switch to 2% milk.
Host: That's the exception if we have a known family trait. Well, we are talking about a family that doesn't have someone who died at age 22 like that.
Maria Monteverde: No, absolutely not. You continue with the whole milk, you continue with the YoBaby, or natural home milk yogurt. Of course, the excess, you don't want to be giving your child fast food and other high saturated like Häagen-Dazs ice-cream but that's more again with the healthy eating habits, not as much worrying about a two-year-old with high cholesterol.
Host: But we still want that low calorie hog, is that correct?
Maria Monteverde: May be low calorie is supposed to be okay.
