Danica Patrick - Profile

Named Rookie of the Year for the 2005 IRL championship series, Danica Patrick was born March 25, 1982. In 1992 she began carting and won several lap of championships. When she was 16, she moved to England in order to advance her racing career and rather than finishing high school she entered GED. In 2005, she was officially announced as a driver for the Rahal Letterman racing team for the IRL championship series. In May 2005, she became only the fourth woman to race in Indy 500 after Janet Guthrie, Lyn St. James and Sarah Fisher. While she posted the fastest practice speed clocking in at 229.8 miles per hour, she started to race in fourth position, still the highest of any woman to race. Since taking part in the Indy 500 in 2005 Danica Patrick popularity has increased. Playboy magazine even ask her to pose for them but she declined however she did pose for FHM magazine in April 2003.
