Hi I am Joe Zimmerman. Today more than ever, business is tough. Every way you turn you are in direct competition with a lot of other people doing the same things you are. So how do you compete? Well, when the going gets tough, the tough gets going. This add is definitely holds true. What you need to focus on is not the competition but on being yourself. Dare to be different build long lasting relationships stick out from the norm, be memorable.
Here are some tips you might type to be different and memorable.
1. Make sure you are who you are, be yourself.
2. Do not be shy, be the first to say hello, introduce yourself to others. No matter where you are, you always want to be friendly.
3. Do not wear your emotions on your shirts’ sleeve but do let your sense of humor show. If you have a joke or a story, share it but keep it clean.
4. If you do not ask, you can hear no. take a risk and go for it.
5. Try and always show your curiosity and interest in others. Make it about them and not you. Practice listening, look at the other person, show interest, speak in turn, think before you speak, be empathetic and never interrupt. Listening is an art, but when done right, it definitely makes you memorable.
6. Be prepared to say who you are, what you do and how what you do can be beneficial to others in a few short but colorful sentences.
7. Be complimentary.
8. No matter what, if you feel life is a little difficult with things might not be going the way you expect, leave the negativity at the door.
Remember, first impressions are lasting impressions. Being short, negative or a tad bit nasty or rude will leave a lasting impression and not a good one.
