Hey guys, this is Master Jake coming to you from this Saturday making a video on the weekend, just a random video. And I'm going to show you guys what—last night I got kind of bored and I spent 30 minutes maybe just setting up the new Dark Kingdom Sequel that I've been telling you that would come out for a while. I was basically just starting, getting it set up with or without, how I think I wanted it to run.
You can see, here’s the start file. This is what you run in. You double click it and then you play the game. That's basically all you have to worry about inside the external folders, all the external files that would be included in the project that the start file runs.
Now, I'm hoping that by using it, this method of storing files will be a lot easier for you guys to editing. It’s also a lot more organized and it’s just—it’s a less of a pain. Now, inside the external commands folder, you have my echo delay command in there right now. That's for writing type-writer text. I might for tomorrow there if I ever make anymore to include with the project.
The data folder includes all the data that you need. This is globals. And as you can see in here, I'm setting globals for the project name and game last updated, and all that crap in there. It’s basically, you set the globals. I have a read-me file when I actually do give further in with this. And actually start making more the game.
Right now, I have barely even started. Here’s the title screen. This basically just the right size in title text and you do a nice pause and here’s the name set up. It’s a set up a little different than my last one. I think it’s a lot more professional. I don’t know how to explain, it’s just I've learned a lot over the time that I've been working with batch and I’m trying to set it up to keep things from screwing up later.
So, let’s go ahead and run in and actually show you what’s been going on. As you can see here, it’s typing it out. The delay on that is 30 milliseconds per letter. I think that's a sufficient delay. Press the key, it’s going to type out what name you should be known. I'm going to type Jake. It’s going to ask me if I'm sharing or not. I'm just going to press any key. It’s going to ask me again. It works pretty much the same as the last one. Except it’s a lot more you know, fancy. So, Master Jake, yes I know it should be known as Jake. Congrats! You would now be known as Master Jake. And press any key to continue. Of course, after that, it closes.
Now, that's all I have right now. Like I said, I just got started. It’s probably going to be a maps folder in here, screens is basically for the important screens in the game like the title, the name set up, different things like the stat screen, battle phase, but maps I think I might put those in a different folder. I'm not sure. Maps are going to be the actual areas that you can walk to and crap like that.
That, once again is just a like stuff. We have globals here. I'm not really sure what else. I'm just probably—I don’t even know if I'm going to finish this or not but I just want to show you guys and see if you guys like the set up so far. And leave comments and whatever. If you want me to keep continuing on this, I have no clue when this will be out if I do finish it. Let’s go ahead and edit the start file. You can see’s it’s a lot easier to read. Right here, we’re loading all the global files in. So, that's setting up all the main variables that we need. Then, we set up the title here. And then, we’re executing the title screen. And then, we’re executing the main set up screen.
As you can see, everything is nice and neatly organized doing all their own with the files and stuff. But yes, that’s what’s going on here in Master Jake Land. But I'm going to go ahead and start the video. Now, you guys just leave your comments or whatever and you know, if you like how it’s going so far. Thanks.
