She is happy. She is at home. And she is here to empower you. She is the Handy Goddess.
Oh yeah! We are ready to do the grouting. And this is the fun part when we get to pull this thing together. So, this is so easy. All you need is--well I want you to have like a tiling sponge, the kinds that got this grit on the back. You are going to need rubber gloves, water and it might be helpful to have a plastic splatter like this, okay. So, these are not real fancy tools, but with a small project, you can work easy. And then of course we need our grout.
And I got a cool nutmeg, color which is going to kind of blend with the rust like what is happening--oh, it is happening as we speak, to our metals. Is not that great? And it is advisable to have to wear dust mask, especially if you are indoors. You do not want to do this stuff. So, it says that we have to mix this for about five minutes. All right, it is about five minutes. Of course, I could use a mixer attached to my drill, but this is just as fun. All right so, five minutes are up. Now, I can take off my gloves and let this stuff rest for about ten minutes and then, we will comeback and apply it to the table.
Out ten minutes is up and we are ready to apply this. It is quite simple. So, what I want you to do is we just put it on the table. You know, there are special tools for doing this sort of thing, but when you are working on small projects and I found with this broken tile work, it is just really much easier to use gloves and your hands. In that way you can really just, you know, smear it in. So, you can see, it is actually quite simple. What am I doing? I am just using my hand and really smooching it in there and when you feel like you have really worked it in there well, you are going to want to scrape off the excess. So, normally let this dry for maybe about 10-20 minutes and then we will comeback we will clean it up.
So, time has passed and it is now a great time to go over with our sponge. So, we have a tiling sponge. Looks like a scrubby pad in one side, okay. And then I would dip it in water and we are going to just glide over this table and wipe out the excess. And I was going to use circular motion and really level out that grout. And if you really got a little stubborn or you cannot get the grout out off the tab do use scrubby part on your sponge.
So, what I want you to be doing is going over this several times constant and cleaning your sponge and get to the point where we do not have any thick grout on top of the tiles. Okay, there are some spots here. We will get rid of all these, okay. Get all that cleaned up. And then we are going to let this set up some more. There is going to be a slight film over all of the tile but then we will just simply buff that away. This is definitely the fun part where what am I doing, I am just kind of buffing off the dust that is left on top from the grout and then we will have a bright shiny table. And you probably are going to want to seal this in a couple of days with some grout sealer.
So, there we go. Our table is finished and that was so easy and so inexpensive and completely rewarding.
