Aurelia Spurlark: Xavier been having a problem with wetting himself. He is a young three year old and I think he was just recently potty trained over the summer. He has started school wearing pull-ups to schools and then he moved into big-boy training pants. And he’s been having some issues with announcing that he needs to go to the bathroom.
Mearl Sledge: It is quite often in school. Yesterday, he wet himself. Today -- only my child wets himself in school, I don’t know.
Aurelia Spurlark: We try to remind to him that you need to go to the bathroom. But he’ll tell us no and wet his pant right after that. He wet his pants as many as three times in one day and been changed twice at school. But he is not comfortable sometimes he doesn’t want to change his clothes, so he just walks around in wet pants.
Xavier wet himself again today. I noticed it after as we were cleaning up from play time. I asked him if did accidentally and he tell me now. I said you’re pants are wet. You need to change and he told me no, and I said you didn’t know you need to go. He told me, no.
I don’t know whether it’s just that when he is here, he is engaged with people, so he doesn’t want to stop, he didn’t want to stop what they were doing, so they simply wet themselves. Because he knew that he would be away for a while, while he changed and he didn’t want to leave.
Mearl Sledge: And sometimes he will tell me, mom I need to go, I need to go and it is too light. Maybe he just gets excited when he is here because so many other children here.
Aurelia Spurlark: So he is so happy be around here and that’s a possibility. I’ve had a number of children who wet their pants over the years and sometimes it’s simply that they don’t want to stop playing to take care of that function.
