Interviewer: In a summer kids go into a park of the woods and they realize they have contact with these three things and it is an homiletic and they think they are going to get poison ivy. First for all, if you just pay their contact, is there anything you can do that maybe never mind the risk of coming down the case.
Doctor: So basically, we use an alcohol etc, to take some of the rest and often then we work.
Interviewer: About washing.
Doctor: Yes. But like in other risk some of its water soluble some of its lungs.
Interviewer: I think like 15 minutes later.
Doctor: Yes. But the question is you have to recognize it. The best thing is someone is really prone to it. It is basically the equipment of ivy grain. They have two price called ivy shield or ivy block. So what they do is instead of cream the barrier grain. I saw one of yours yesterday and once I am clear I am going to say use a barrier.
Interviewer: In that what else that you keeping those friction.
Doctor: Yes. But the kid has secondary infected.
Interviewer: In all cases like everything else.
Doctor: But, I said use a block because once it clears is not the issue. The kids will also going to have hyperpigmentation for three to six months. Okay, because it is bad enough the it is going to leave color change.
Interviewer: But if you do get a case of poison ivy, what can you do?
Doctor: The prescription creams are garbage. They do not work well. And so if you have a bad case, you are stock like systemic steroids.
Interviewer: That is probably the best measures.
Doctor: Yes. You are stock. The problem who have is one. It is not the contact. What happens is if you wash raisins if it is okay. If you scratch the raisins then it would transmitted out across the body.
The next is the raisins on the clothes and the clothes are not really wash well then the raisins on the clothes and you move it.
Interviewer: The cause is you get rid of those foams.
Doctor: If you burn the leaf, you can get poison ivy just in the foam. Is that a strong and it buzzers its sounds, it is not possible to catch out in the winter.
Interviewer: Can a topical steroid cream make it little more comfortable?
Doctor: Not, that is not enough. The calimine is much better. Calimine probably would do more. Now, I am big fun of milk.
Interviewer: Pretty milk on the skin.
Doctor: Ice cold milk. I like cold, but like physiological reasons. One, I just want colds. Itching is a night time heat related phenomenon, okay. The nerve fibers fight function jump up more and down. So you always get worse at night. One, you are doing nothing, three, your temperature is 1 degree and higher at night.
So if you lower the temperature, you cut down on the edges.
Interviewer: So you get something against.
Doctor: Yes. But honestly the best things you are going to calm somebody down has a very bad allergic contact is ice cold milk compresses every hour for 34 hours. You will calm everybody down.
Interviewer: And the steroids will take a few days to kick out.
Doctor: The steroids will take a few days to kick and I am not a big fun of getting a chance. The reasons are the absorption is to valuable.
Interviewer: Okay, so in other words a strong steroid.
Doctor: And going to be inadequate does work a biggest mistake you can make it on your treat because now you got it in some on steroids and you under treated them.
So, if it is a really bad contact allergic reaction, I start as high as I think I need to start and cut it out as fast as I can get away with it. But, I am committing to 12 to 14 days every time I start.
Interviewer: Okay, but if you also control them scratching it, it helps a little bit.
Doctor: Yes. Because it have not spread the raisin because the raisin gets under the fingernails and what happens they are moving the raisin over the place that is why you get lean in your strings even really in that contact. It is under the fingernails.
Interviewer: So you and your own by testing.
Doctor: Right. So cold compresses, meaning it will calm the skin and you just wash the stuff for. The other issu
