Hi, I am Karen and I am here to talk to you about designing a home office workstation.
Couple more of very important things: noise, light, your desk creating an intimate space. Firstly—noise, you do not want to be working on an area when you got children running around, a TV on in the background, that is not really going to help you to get your work done. It is going to be distracting and not really what you want.
Light—preferably work with daylight if you can, otherwise get yourself a good lamp. Not so much too bright, you are going to be screwing your eyes up the whole time.
With your desk, you want some sturdy and stable—nothing is going to be wobbling around. Perfect if there are drawers on the side too, put your glasses in there if you need them, pens, pencils, ruler, notepads, anything like that.
The other thing you want to make sure you got is a filing cabinet and some shelving on the walls. You want to be able to keep your books and your documentation at hand so you do not have to be running on the house looking for your document.
Personalize your space, plants around, they are really, really lovely—good for oxygen too, some nice photos of your family and friends, lovely. Ultimately, you want to create intimate space that is conducive to getting your work done.
