Male: Steve, when I was in school you know one of my professors said you need always remember that garden design is good picture making. So we have to go out in the field and do sketches and I still do that today and what I wanted to show you here is this big bud that I am putting as a terminus for the pot behind us. we got this big fig back and later put them all this big containers but I wanted a big splash in this bed and what I'm thinking about is taking this original knock outs with they are really intense and electrifying pink. And doing a big bold mass of them and then may be coming for another variety of rose and then may be something in the ground.
Steve: I think that is one of the charms of knockout one of the many uses of knockout and you can just, you can in this person if you have for here throughout the garden and just make it a very nice companion that fits in well with a lot of perennials and annuals and—
Male: The cottage garden look.
Steve: Exactly and they have that kind of rustic simplicity but you can also especially with the original knockout with that as you said that vibrant electric kind of color, you can make a statement with this particular variety that you can just about not finding any rose.
Male: Yes, I think that just eye catching color as you come down the path and you see through the lands of the fig I think we will be really nice.
Steve: You will see something is going on.
Male: Yes, that is right. This bud is a big scallop shape and then something like this and then of course the four board fans is back here and what I thought we would do is take this light petals. We got about seven right really big ones and just sort of line them across the back like this and then do a big draft of knockout here, maybe 30 or 49 plants like this. And then across the front maybe use pink draft like this and then right here along the path, we would have that bigger lambs here. And also here is the part here, so you have a lambs here you would have across here this would be draft and then this would be all knockout and then those pendulums across the back which will stop the eyes so you are not looking beyond in to that past landscape.
Steve: Other than that it will make a good combination, simplicity but a lot of different textures with the lands here and the roses with a constant bloom from late April until the late November and then the backdrop of the purple or the pendulum. There is lot to be said for that kind of design, simplicity that is fussy.
Male: Which you have here is you have basically four plants but we are using a lot of each variety for a bold statement. Very good, well you have to come back and check it out once again what was planted.
Steve: Okay.
Male: If you like more information on this topic or any other gardening topic just checks out my web site, tallensmith.com.
