Challenge number three: Dime into a glass.
Speaker: Okay, Dime into a glass. I love this one. Now if you can take a look at these glasses full of water here, there are two shaker glasses or kind of an average beer pint glass. Now what you want to do here is you want to bet someone, I don't know for a dollar or a drink in the car, David's sister and something that you will be able to put a dime, you will be able to put it into the bottom of this glass on the inside without spilling the water.
So take this dime put it in the bottom of this glass on the inside and not spill the water. Now if you can get a close look up on here, if you notice that the two glasses are filled with water, its filled up to about half way. Now a lot of people wouldn't show this to, they just think that's the trick. They think that's so cool, how did you get that done?
So what you do? First of all here is the shot at the glass, now it has a fairly wide room. I am sure you can see that it's fairly wide there. You take two glasses you fill up the sink with water, alright, you submerge the two glasses, underneath the water you seal them and that's the way and nice, you turn it upside down.
Alright so that way now, you can actually fill it all the way to the top but I try to have it about half way that is about good. So that's how you get to this point. So, put a dime into the bottom of this glass without spilling the water. Mom knows---
Here's the solution to dime into a glass.
Speaker: Now we are back, you figured out, to get wet while you are practicing. Now notice I have these bar mats down here because it does tend to get a little wet if you don't get things perfectly. So, safety first, and also a nice little towel here. Do it at your mom's place. I am sure she will really like it. Now what you want to do, take your dime and I like using a fairly heavy bar opener or something really metal. Doesn't really matter, you need to use anything but, this is--it's fairly substantial.
So what I want to do here, really, really gently, is I want to start tapping this. You need to close up, you got to be really gentle, I am just--you see, I am making a little bit of an area there, just about there. If you can get a close up when you are stoop but I got just a little area that I can fit the dime in there. You got a shot of that? Right there, and just really gently. Come back down and then I am going to tap it back. Sort of safety--very nice.
Want to go a double or nothing?
And that one for all you physics majors. Challenge number four: Remove the water from the glass.
Speaker: Okay now next what you can do is say double or nothing. If some wants to push to their luck or not, same trick, same setup. Now what you say is, "Okay, now I know you have got--I have taken your dollars, so but I have got one, even better for you. I wager you about another dollar that I can remove the water from the top glass without touching the glasses in any way."
Now it's not a big physical thing, I am not going to have anybody knock over the bar or run away and throw up things something like that. I am not going to touch the glasses in anyway and I am going to remove the water from the top glass. You know what it is? Think about it. We will be back.
