Dimple Surgery Explained Gal Aharonov: What we’re doing with this procedure is find a replicate what happens in real life, in a real dimple. So, it’s a simple procedure as you can see it was done in the office and we cut away a piece of that muscle creating a defect and again trying to replicate what happens in nature by -- Andrew Ordon: You didn’t actually go through the skin on the outside? Gal Aharonov: No, no cuts on the outside. Andrew Ordon: We actually have an animation. Gal Aharonov: Yeah, basically you cut away a piece of the muscle and you put a stitch down and to tent the skin down towards the muscle and that causes the dimple in the face. Now the downside might be that the dimple is there all the time. The way that I do it, it’s there all the time maybe for the first couple of weeks, maybe a month or so. After that the dimple falls out which means that it’s only there when the patient smiles. So Felicia when she comes out, we did the procedure last week so she’s still recovering you know it takes usually about let’s say a couple of weeks tops, a month or a month and a half to get the final result. Andrew Ordon: Well let’s check it out. Let’s remind ourselves of the way Felicia looked before dimples in a nice smiley pose, and let’s bring her out and let’s take a look at those new dimples. Travis Stork: You can't fake that smile. Felicia: I know you can't. Travis Stork: So you're pretty happy. Felicia: I am very happy. Andrew Ordon: A happy dimple patient. Gal Aharonov: Yeah, right now you can see the dimples are there when she’s not smiling there's a little bit of an indentation that’s because she’s still healing. Travis Stork: I don’t think Felicia can keep herself from smiling right now. Felicia: I can't, I love my dimples. Travis Stork: So obviously for you this is something that has helped your confidence, you love your smile now. Felicia: Absolutely, it definitely gave me a boost of confidence. I mean the day after I had the procedure done, I went out and I got compliments and I haven’t got any compliments in a long time so I'm definitely blaming the dimples for that. Andrew Ordon: So what's next Felicia? A chin dimple? Felicia: No. Travis Stork: She’s cut off. Andrew Ordon: And it is natural.
