Hi stumpers! Today we’re going to make the Diorama Box. The original creator of this card is Diana Gibbs. Hi Diana! Okay, so this card when it’s fold-flat, it will fit into a small end envelope. I’m going to show you that. I just got to be careful because I have my whole little bees pop up here. But you’ll see that fits perfectly in the small end envelope and we saw this at stumping up. Okay, when it sits you’re going to open it up and then its just going to sit by itself, isn’t that cute. And then when you look inside those holes, there’s a little gritting inside there. So I’m going to show you how to make the box basically, just the box today.
Okay so I use the whisper white and the black, and those are cut at eight and half by three and you’re going to score both pieces on the long ends at two inches on either end and do both pieces that way. And then I have the yoyo yellow and let’s cut it six and half by three and you’re going to score on each end at one inch, okay.
So then once you get your score lines and go ahead fold them over and I’m going to be punching the front of my card which is the black. And you’re going to use the one and three eight circle punch. And the idea is you want to start your first punch. Put your punch all the way in and you’re going to line that punch, the side of the punch up with the score line. Just put your punch all the way in and then just punch it out, and then move your punch over to the other side and that’s side is going to line up with that score line also. So go ahead and line them up and then just punch that out. And then it should look like that, and then you just going to put the punch right in the center and you’re going to cut that center piece out. So you’re going to have liked your little pick-a-boo window right there.
Okay, so then for the yoyo yellow, you’re going to do the same thing as we did on the black but you’re going to use the one and one quarter circle punch. I’m going to put the punch all the way in, lining that up with that side of your punch in the score line, punch that out and move it over, line that other side up. And then punch that out, and then do the center pieces the same way, put your punch all the way in. So then you have your two pick-a-boos on your black and your yoyo yellow.
Okay, so now this would be the time that—let me fold this up here so we can get this lined up perfectly. Okay, so I usually take the center piece and I’m lining that up with the back piece which is my whisper white. And then you can also just go ahead and stamp your image while you have your little template there because this is the area that’s going to be seen when you’re looking through your Diorama Box, but if you’re greeting on the inside is a little bit larger like this one is, it says “Have a honey of the day” it doesn’t quite fit. It’s a little bit too big. So what I did is I just do a pencil line to outline that template. And then when I removed it, I could stamp it in that area, and then of course you raise your pencil line.
Okay, so than to put your Diorama Box together, what you’re going to do is you’re going to add some sticky strip, and you’re going to put this on the whisper white next to your score line. So let’s go and do that. We make a little square. You’re going to put it on the outer side of your score line. Okay so, it should look like that. Then you’re going to do the outside of your box of your Diorama Box. You’re going to flip that over and you’re going to put that on the ends also. Okay, so now we’re going to put the box together and let me get these punches out of the way. Okay so you're just going to peel your sticky strip and of course, you want to do all your stamping and your layering and all that in the back of your curve before you put it to together because once you put it together, it’s going to be kind hard coloring your images and stuff.
Okay, so you’re going to take your center piece, the yo-yo yellow and you’re going to line that edge up right here to that score line and then you’re just going to press that down into your yo-yo yellow and do the other side the same way. Okay so you see the box is forming now. Okay so then you’re going to take your black piece and peel off the back and have your sticky strip, and this is going to go over your whole side of your cards. So you’re just going to take your end and just got to line that up like that, and do the other side, the same way. Just put those score lines right up through each other, it should fit perfectly.
So there’s your Diorama Box. And then you can just fold it flat just make decrease line, so it folds flat and then it will fit in your small end envelope. And then here’s the finished one. I used the Just Buzzin By stamp set, it’s really cute hand cut out all those bees. Pop them up on some dimensional and add some dazzling diamonds, so but that’s. It’s really cute and really easy. Thanks for stopping by. We’ll see you later, bye.
