Welcome to Common Man Cocktails. I’m your host Derrick Schommer. Today, we’re going to do the Dirty Banana.
What we’re going to have is, we’re going to use some little crème de cacao, a little Kahlua, little crème de banana and we’re going to do an ounce of each of this. We’re going to use a secret sauce. It’s going to be two scoops of vanilla ice cream. We’re going to put in a high ball glass so we’re going to shake it up and that’s pretty much it, very simple, very basic. I haven’t had this drink but I’m telling you right now it sounds tasty so I figured let’s give a go.
We’ll do is we’re going to put some ice in here with the ice cream. I’ve done this before with one of the recipe, Dream Seagull Martini. That we didn’t put in a Martini glass as you can and one more. See that’s why we have this like mental dictionary balmier recipes. I’m going to throw the ice cream in here so I mentioned out two scoops I just got an ice cream scoop and I scoop with it, beautiful, two of them, one, two so that was the behind the scenes action.
Now, what we’re going to do measure that one ounce of all of the cool alcohols and crème de cacao is pretty. It smells really good. It tastes really good. I don’t know if I drink it straight by itself. It just smell like a sickly sweet chocolate and by sickly I mean if you drink too much you’re going to get sick because it’s sweet, sickly sweet.
It is funny and the one ounce of Kahlua coffee liqueur or any other coffee liqueur you might have handy. I got the Kahlua especial and they get like 5% stronger than the other stuff maybe 70 proof. We got the other stuff, now you know which one is stronger and I can remember. We got our vanilla ice cream in here. We’re just going to shake this super aggressively, awesome stuff, no problem.
You can see it’s a little harder to shake because it’s got that ice cream smooth and everything up and we got it off, most of it. This could have a few little chunky chunks. Let’s get our strainer out, put some ice in here, too. So, now if there is a few ice chunks that’s left that’s okay because they’ll be strained back. I see it in there; I use a little more sauce. There you go, that is your Dirty Banana.
It smells like chocolate milk, like if you made your own chocolate milk with the Hershey’s chocolate, super ethnic--burn. The goal is get a little bit of a burn to it. Not too much, I think you’ll use to it. It’s pretty good. It’s like a creamy vanilla white rush in, not getting that much banana. Not as much as I was expecting, I was expecting a little more banana. That’s okay, it’s still pretty good, I think it’s kind of like your way it rushing with vanilla ice cream. I like the way it’s rushing. I like vanilla ice cream. There might be hint after the burn. If you use a regular Kahlua and not a especial, you might get a little less of that.
