Welcome to this episode the body performance. I am Steve Terrano. People know that vitamins and minerals and there diet. Now they want to know, “Am I receiving enough vitamins and minerals in my daily diet and will vitamins and minerals help improve my athletic performance?” And the answer is yes. Typically you receive enough vitamins and minerals in your daily diet. The second part is, no they would not improve your athletic performance.
Let me read you some information, Collegiate Anatomy and Physiology Book; it says however research suggest that vitamins supplements have little or no effect on a persons athletic performance. Eat reasonably well balance diet supplies more than enough vitamins for even the elite athlete. Second reference, book written by a Harvard Educated Orthopedic Surgeon, he writes, extra vitamins will not give you a winning edge.
Extra vitamins do not increase performance, increase strength for endurance, prevent injuries or illness, provide energy or build muscles. So, all a multivitamin will be good for you, unfortunately it is not going to improve your athletic performance.
Love your body. I will see you next time.
