[Demonstration]
Hi! Welcome to LessonsWithTroy.com. Today’s lesson is going to be over the country Gospel-tuned Blessed Assurance. Let’s go ahead and get start it with that first phrase. It’s going to sound like this slowly.
[Demonstration]
So if you have your tab, go and print it out and set it on music stand right in front of you and why I teach this is I’m going to teach you the close-ups with left hand, with the numbers then I’ll switch the camera over and show you exactly what I'm doing with the right hand. The tablature that you can find on my website lessonswiththeory.com will have the right hand fingering treatment there as well.
So that first phrase let me go through it slowly and explain it to you.
[Demonstration]
Okay, so it starts on beat four there.
[Demonstration]
What I'm doing there is I’m doing a row here on my sixth string, third string, and second string real quick.
[Demonstration]
I’ll show you the right hand in just a second. But I do that--
[Demonstration]
And I do seventh fret on my fourth string. And so, 7th fret on my fourth string, and then I’m playing an open on the third string.
[Demonstration]
The next measure is measure two, let me play this.
[Demonstration]
That’s all open. I'm not doing anything with my bar there, but I'm going to be doing this it’s real quick row just like I did before. But this time, it’s on the sixth, second, and first string. It is really quicker than the right hand thumb index note
[Demonstration]
And then I do this arpeggio here on my fourth string open, third string open, and first string open.
[Demonstration]
And bring it back down third string, fourth string. On the third measure, I’ll go over the C chord here and I’ll be playing my 5th fret on my sixth string, fourth string, and third string there.
[Demonstration]
And then open first string and then move my bar up to get rid of my fifth fret on my second string. And then go bak to that G chord, open sixth, second and first string then go ahead with that arpeggio.
[Demonstration]
And that’s on my fourth, third and second. And I’ll bring it back down to fourth, third, second third, fourth. Just to make a lot more sense to you when I show you the right hand in just a second. Let’s play that whole phrase.
[Demonstration]
Great. Let me show you the right hand.
Okay this is going to be the right hand in for measures one, two, three, and half a measure four.
[Demonstration]
So right there, I’m measuring one, do that real quick. That’s six , third, and second string row. And then you hit that 7th fret on my thumb there and open third string with my lick. And do another row there on my sixth, second, and first row.
[Demonstration]
Just try the little ornamentation to it. And I’ll do this arpeggio by doing it with my thumb, index, and middle in my fourth, third, first, string and bring it back down.
[Demonstration]
It’s on measure number 2. When I go to that C chord, I do this triple stop here on my sixth, fourth, and third string. And I’ll bring up my middle, hit that first string, and then back to my second. And they were all there, sixth, second, and first. Continue that arpeggio in my fourth, third, and second string.
[Demonstration]
All right, let’s go ahead and move on to the second phrase.
