Don't Overpay on Mutual Fund

I’m Kevin McCormally of Kiplinger’s with today tax tip. The head of the Irish told me if a few years ago. That he suspects that millions of investors paid too much tax on the mutual profits simply because they don’t understand rules.

If you sold shares during 2008, you’ll get a 10 M99 B-form the fund. Showing how much you got, but the full amount is not taxable, you subtract what you’ve paid for the shares. You’re so called tax basis to arrive at the tax full gain. Maybe you haven’t a tax saving laws.

What thinking you’re basis don’t forget to include any dividend investigable for the years. Lots of investors forget that the higher commissioner told me and over pay the tax. If you’re not sure about your basis and your records are clear, call the funds toll free number for help. Most funds now are keep track of investors, average basis and that can really save time, frustration and money.
